The Thailand Travel Mart 2016 Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Sub-region (TTM+ 2016), which ends. has been a resounding success with over 850 delegates from over 55 countries doing great business while networking and enjoying cultural performances and colour that showcased the history and art of Lanna and ASEAN.

After having been held for 14 consecutive years in Bangkok, TTM+ moved north to Chiang Mai in 2016 and was staged at the impressive Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC). The move shows how Thailand’s northern region is becoming vital to tourism by acting as a gateway to other ASEAN nations, such as, Cambodia, Lao PDR., Myanmar and Vietnam.

The hundreds of representatives from Thailand’s hotel, hospitality, spa and travel industry were joined by H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), as well as senior tourism executives of Greater Mekong Sub-Regiona (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand – or CLMVT). They were all on hand to answer visitors’ questions and to revel in the lively cultural atmosphere.
